American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is a nonprofit organization that has helped investigate crimes against animals since 1866, according to their website. ASPCA accepts vehicles as donations--the condition or age does not matter and the donation does not cost you anything. Donations to ASPCA are tax-deductible and go to a good cause. You can make your donation online or by telephone.
Instructions
1. Locate the title to your vehicle. You'll need the title to donate it; if you don't have it, visit your nearby motor vehicle department to apply for a duplicate.
2. Visit the ASPCA website by going to "www.aspca.org." Scroll over "Donate" and select "More Ways to Donate." Scroll down and select "Vehicle Donation" on the right side of the screen.
3. Select the year model of the vehicle you want, and then enter yourZIP code. Click "Continue" to proceed. Enter your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). If you don't have the VIN, enter the make and model. Click "Continue."
4. Choose the condition description that best describes the vehicle (rough, fair, good or excellent). Enter your name, address and telephone number, as well as the vehicle location. Use the comment box to provide any additional details. Click "Submit" when you are finished.
5. Wait for the donation service to contact you (usually 48 to 72 hours). They will arrange a free pickup at a convenient time, and help you transfer the title.
6. Receive a confirmation from ASPCA once the vehicle is sold at auction. Keep the confirmation and the tax form they provide you with to file the donation on your taxes.
