Get Papers For A Pit Bull

To register your pit bull visit the American Pit Bull Registry's website.

The American Pit Bull Terrier has a thick brick-like head, broad cheeks with strong jaws and a muscular neck. The dog is stocky and strong. While the American Pit Bull has suffered a bad rap in recent history, according to the website "Dog Breed Info," if the dogs are socialized with a strong and agreeable pack leader, they will not display aggression and will be obedient, loyal creatures. If you've got a purebred pit bill, you can get papers from the American Pit Bull Registry, but first you'll need its purebred papers.

Instructions

1. Contact the breeder or pet store where you got the pit bull. Ask for its purebred papers, which will assert that its mother and father were purebred pit bulls with papers as well. If you've already been given these papers but lost them, you might need to pay a fee to get them again.

2. Make copies of these papers. Keep the originals in a safe place.

3. Visit the website "American Pit Bull Registry" and print out the registration form. Fill out the requisite information about your dog.

4. Attach copies of your pit bull's purebred papers, along with a front and side photograph. Mail everything to: American Pit Bull Registry, PO Box 1036, Antioch, TN 37011

5. Check your mail six weeks from the date of mailing in the application. You will receive your registry papers in six to 10 weeks.
