Neopets is a gaming site created by Nickelodeon for kids and teen-agers. The site allows you to create your own virtual pet and care for that pet in a virtual world on your petpage. Just like a real pet, you are responsible for ensuring that your pet's needs are met. To earn the Neopoints required to buy the items--such as food, clothing and recreation--to care for the pet, you can play games, participate in individual and multiplayer goal-oriented challenges and scavenger hunts or win battles against other pets.
Instructions
1. Create or log in to your Neopet account to create your first Neopet. Select a Neopet species, choose the color for the pet and name the pet. You also can assign a living location to the pet, assign hobbies and select how the Neopet interacts with other pets. Click the "Create" button when you have finished creating your pet.
2. Create a home for your Neopet by clicking the "Customize" tab from the Neopet home page. Select "Neohomes."
3. Check on your Neopet to see how it is doing. For example, if your Neopet is hungry, the status will say hungry. The status of your Neopet will be displayed under the quick reference section when you log in to your account.
4. Earn Neopoints by playing Neopet games. You can play games for free by clicking the "Games" tab from the Neopets home page.
5. Use your Neopoints to shop for your Neopet. You can buy items such as food, toys, books, clothes and grooming items. To start shopping, click the "Shops" tab from the Neopets home page. Click "Neopia Central."
6. Click the "NC Mall" tab from the Neopets home page if you want to buy special items for your Neopet that cannot be purchased with Neopoints. You must use Neocash to shop the NC Mall. You can purchase Neocash by clicking the "Get Neocash" link. Neocash can be purchased through PayPal, with a credit card or from a Neocash card purchased at retail stores. Click the "Shop" option under NC Mall when you are ready to shop.
