What Is The Personality Of Bichon Frise Dogs

The American Kennel Club (AKC) says the cuddly, white Bichon Frise was previously used as a circus performer but is now primarily a companion dog who needs regular exercise and enjoys being active. This breed won the Westminster Best In Show award in 2001.

Merry

The AKC says the Bichon Frise is a cheerful breed. A Bichon exhibits its merry attitude by carrying its plumed tail jauntily over its back and bouncing about.

Sensitive

The Bichon Frise is an exceptionally sensitive breed, with wide, expressive eyes. This trait makes the breed relatively easy to train.

Timid

The website Yourpurebredpuppy.com notes that the Bichon can be timid, so early socialization is important.

Social

The Bichon Frise does not like to be left alone and is most happy in the company of humans. This breed may suffer from separation anxiety when left alone for long periods of time.

Playful

Bichons are perky and energetic. They love to play with toys and learn new tricks. They enjoy going for walks and riding in cars.
