Care For A Rabbit

Although rabbits may look adorable, you'll find that they're not as easy to care for as you may think. You'll have to spend a lot of time caring for your rabbit in order to ensure the animal lives a happy and healthy life. If you look after a rabbit well, the pet can live for 10 years or more.

Instructions

1. Bring the rabbit inside. The safest and healthiest way to look after a rabbit is to keep him in an enclosure inside your house. You can buy a rabbit cage from a pet store. Get a cage five times the size of your rabbit.

2. Allow the rabbit to play. Allow her to leave the cage for a couple hours each day to keep her happy. Keep her in a contained area in order to prevent her from escaping.

3. Give the rabbit plenty of hay. Keep his cage filled with Timothy grass hay to eat.

4. Supplement the rabbit's diet with fruits and vegetables. Vegetables that you can give your rabbit include romaine lettuce, collard greens and parsley. For treats, give your rabbit the occasional piece of fruit, such as apples, pears and melon.

5. Keep the rabbit busy. While looking after a rabbit, you'll want to give her some sort of entertainment. You can achieve this by giving her cardboard to chew on.
