Craigslist is an online classifieds website that allows you to browse and post advertisements for most items, jobs and miscellaneous activities. The layout is simple, yet functional, making it easy to post what you need without wading through animations or popups. Anyone can post to Craigslist after he has created a free account. Once you have an account established, Craigslist allows you to update previously posted ads, view expired ads and re-post expired ads.
Instructions
1. Open craigslist.org in a Web browser, such as Internet Explorer. Click "My Account." Sign in to your Craigslist account using the email address and password associated with the account. If you don't have an account, click "Sign up for an Account." Enter an email address and the verification code. Select the "Create Account" button. Check the email address for the account activation email, and click the activation link. Enter a password and click the "Submit Password and Log In" button. Click "I Accept" on the Terms of Use page to complete registration.
2. Return to craigslist.org. Click "Post to Classifieds." Select the section you want to post on, such as "For Sale" or "Job Offered." Select a specific category for the post. The category options will vary, depending on the section. Select the city/area you want the posting to be displayed in.
3. Enter a title for the posting in the "Posting Title" bar. Enter the body text of the post in the "Posting Description" box. If applicable, enter information for other boxes on the page such as pricing. Though not required, add an image by clicking the "Add/Edit Image" button and selecting the image you want to add.
4. Click the "Hide" option to keep your email address invisible. To receive responses to your ad, put an email address or phone number in the body of the ad. Click "Anonymize" to hide your email address and still receive email responses.
5. Choose "Continue." A preview of the ad will open. Select "Continue" to continue posting or "Edit Again" to make changes. Enter the verification code, and click "Continue" to post the ad.
