Modify A Ps3 Saved Game File

The PlayStation 3 is the third home gaming system by Sony. Users have the opportunity to play a wide variety of games across a number of genres. While playing, game files are created to save the player's progress and additional information about the game. Users can modify these game files when needed, such as erasing information for titles that they no longer have.

Instructions

1. Power on your PS3 and wait for the system screen to load. Select the "Game Files" tab from the main screen menu. This will take you to a listing of all the game files that have been saved to your PS3 hard drive.

2. Scroll over the game file you wish to modify. Press the triangle button to open the menu which allows you to either erase or copy the selected game file. You can now erase the file from your hard drive or make additional copies to save to portable gaming devices.

3. Hold the power button on the PS3 until the system beeps and turns completely off. Then press the power button down and hold it again until the systems beeps twice. This will start your PS3 in system recovery mode.

4. Press the button to select "Restore PS3 System" to restart the PS3. Once it has restarted, all corrupted game files will be removed from you PS3 hard drive. Corrupted game files are saved games that for one reason or another have no longer become accessible.
