Make A Webkinz Username

Webkinz pets allow young children to create a virtual world for their stuffed animals. The child creates a home and takes care of the pet online. On the website, kids can also have their virtual pets befriend other pets and play games. Creating a username is the first step to entering this online world. Parents should work with their child when setting up a membership account and name.

Instructions

1. Go to the Webkinz main webpage, Webkinz.com. Click "New Member" to start your membership and create a username.

2. Click "I have a Pet Code" to enter your secret code from your Webkinz stuffed animal. If you do not have a secret code, you will need to purchase one. To do this, click "I would like to buy a Pet Code" and follow the steps.

3. Click "Make a New Account." This option will appear a few seconds after the goose starts talking.

4. Follow the prompts, such as choosing your country, to get to the User Agreement. At the User Agreement screen, scroll down to the bottom to show that you have read it entirely before clicking the "I Accept these terms and conditions" box. This box is not clickable until you read the user agreement in its entirety.

5. Fill in the child's information. For this you use the child's real information because you "may be asked to recall this information for security purposes" according to the site. Click "Next" to proceed.

6. Enter your username in the text box. The username must be unique to the site and not include identifying information, according to the Webkinz User Agreement. Keep safety in mind; do not use any resemblance of the child's real name or where he or she lives.

7. Enter a password that contains at least six numbers and/or letters.

8. Enter the Webkinz pet's secret code. Once entered, the website advises you keep the code handy as it may be needed for security purposes. Once entered you'll be requested to enter letters from an image to finalize your membership and username.
