Neopets is an online game where players can adopt and take care of virtual pets. Up to four Neopets can be created for each account. Neopets can be customized by color, species, gender and statistics when created. While Neopet genders cannot be changed with a specific item, they can be changed by using the Secret Lab Ray or by fighting the Lab Ray Scientist in the Battledome.
Instructions
Using the Secret Lab Ray
1. Collect all nine pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map and redeem them in the Treasure Maps Game. This will grant you access to the Secret Laboratory and the Secret Lab Ray.
2. Enter the Secret Laboratory. Choose the pet that you would like to change genders.
3. Click on the button underneath your Neopet to zap your pet. The Secret Lab Ray can randomly alter your pet's species, color, statistics or gender. There is a small chance that it will change your Neopet's gender.
Battling the Lab Ray Scientist in the Battledome
4. Visit the "Choose a Pet" page at the Secret Laboratory. The Lab Ray Scientist will appear as a Battledome challenger through a random event.
5. Go to the Neopets One Player Battledome and select the "Lab Ray Scientist" as your challenger.
6. Battle the Lab Ray Scientist in the Battledome with the pet that you would like to change genders. The Lab Ray Scientist may attack your pet with a "Strange Potion." This potion will change the gender of your Neopet.
