Whether the mom-to-be is expecting twins or has a strong religious faith, a Noah's Ark theme is ideal for a baby shower in her honor. For a twin baby shower, focus on decorating with pairs of animals, as Noah selected two pairs of every animal in the biblical story. If the mother to be is not having twins, you can focus more on other aspects of the story such as the ark itself, rainbows and doves. Instructions
1. Decorate the party area. Place pairs of stuffed animals in various areas throughout the party room. Pick up helium balloons in the shape of different types of animals from a party store. Hang paper rainbows from the ceiling or ceiling fixtures if possible.
2. Decorate the tables. Use light blue tablecloths to represent the the water that the Ark floated on, or use blue-rimmed plates at each setting. For the centerpieces, you can use toy arks with little animal figurines on them. Another centerpiece idea is to have olive branches in a glass vase to represent the olive branch that the dove brought back to Noah in the biblical story. Set a toy dove on the olive branches.
3. Decorate the food table with miniature stuffed animals around the food. Have a Noah's Ark-theme cake at the center of the table. If you are using chafing dishes, cover the sides of them with cardboard painted to look like wood, so that the food dishes appear to be mini boats.
