Make Your Foopets Smarter

FooPets is designed for the 13-and-younger crowd, but anyone can play.

Designed by a veterinarian to help kids learn about pet care, FooPets.com is a virtual reality game that gives players a chance to own, take care of, breed and train virtual 3-D dogs or cats. Membership on the site requires a small monthly fee that provides each player with monthly FooDollars for supplies and toys. Members can play games with their pet, take digital photos and even interact with other members' FooPets. A FooPets' intelligence is preset from birth but you can control or raise your FooPet's intelligence through adoption, breeding or careful attention to its care.

Instructions

1. Choose a breed of dog or cat with a high intelligence score. Your FooPet's intelligence will range from 63 to 129. A median, or "average" intelligence animal will score an 89, which is represented in green on the personality profile. Scores written in gray will represent an animal with below-average intelligence.

2. Play, train and practice tricks with your FooPet. While the intelligence score is a preset number that will not change, a well trained dog or cat will perform with more intelligence if given excellent care.

3. Breed two intelligent FooPets to create a FooPet puppy or kitten. The kitten or puppy's intelligence score will be the average of both parent animals, plus the average for the breed. If more than one kitten or puppy is born in the litter, the intelligence of each will be based on a bell curve.
