The ASPCA mostly deals with companion animals.
The ASPCA is the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Although the ASPCA is a national organization, hundreds of local animal shelters are affiliated with the ASPCA. If you need assistance with a homeless animal or if you are looking to adopt a pet, you can use the resources available on the ASPCA website to find a nearby shelter.
Instructions
1. Go to the ASPCA website and click on "Find a Shelter" from the menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Enter your ZIP code or your city and state in the search box on the page. Then choose a search radius, such as "10 miles."
3. Click "Go." Look through the list of shelters and find the one labeled either "ASPCA" or "SPCA." These are the shelters that are associated with the national organization. The address of the shelter and other contact information will be listed.
