Instructions
1. Purchase flowers from your local flower shop or cut some fresh blooms from your spring garden. Red, white and blue flowers are in fashion for Memorial Day for obvious reasons.
2. Schedule your visit to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for any time between dusk and dawn. This is when the cemetery is open to the public.
3. Drive to the cemetery located at 2900 Sheridan Road in St. Louis, MO. Driving directions can be found on the official Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery website (see Resources below).
4. Stroll through the cemetery grounds to pay respects to the veterans buried on the more than 300 acres. More than 150,000 veterans are interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
5. Ask cemetery staff for assistance in locating the grave site of a family member or friend. If you have access to the burial documents for that person, a map to the grave site is also included.
6. Place a fresh flower tribute on the grave of your family member, friend or a stranger. Potted plants are also allowed to be placed during the 10 days before and after Memorial Day.
