Homemade Birthday Card For A Baby Boy

Cards can be made with simple cutout shapes and some glue.

Homemade greeting cards are personal and can be less expensive than a store-bought card. You can make a birthday card that sends a personal message to the special baby boy in your life. The card can be simple, or you can create a detailed design. With a few supplies, a touch of creativity and a well-meant wish, you will be on your way to creating a special card that will show your love for the birthday boy.

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of card stock with scissors to the desired size for your greeting card. Your card may be square or rectangular. You can make a flat card with a message on the back or fold it in half so the recipient can open it to find a message.

2. Embellish the front of your card with colorful scrapbook paper, cutout shapes or stickers. You can glue scrapbook paper over the front to make a colorful background. Some ideas for cutouts are a cupcake, a yellow duck or stars. You can also use stickers to make a border around the card.

3. Add a message to your card using sticker letters or printed text off your computer in a fancy font. You can use a simple message such as "Happy Birthday to a Special Baby Boy" or you can get creative and make up a rhyme or include the baby's age.

4. Cut a square or rectangle out of a piece of light-colored scrapbook paper (depending on the shape of your card) an inch smaller than your card on all sides. This will be for the back of the card if it is flat or the inside of the card if it is folded.

5. Write a message to the birthday boy on the cutout piece of paper. Use a bright marker or glitter glue pen if you want to add color. Sign your name below your message.

6. On the inside of the card, or on the back, center your cutout and glue it down.

7. Embellish the inside or back of your card around your message with small cutouts such as stars or ducks, or stickers.

8. Place your finished card in an envelope with the baby's name on the front.
