Promote Your Designs On Facebook

You'll need images of your designs, engaging text and a dedicated page to exploit Facebook's viral marketing power. Your goal is to create a buzz about your designs by adding useful content to a dedicated page. After you add content to this page, work to attract the fans that will participate in conversations involving your most engaging designs. The advantages of using a page to promote your designs on Facebook surpasses the use of your profile. While a regular Facebook profile may have up to 5,000 friends that you can share with, a dedicated page supports an unlimited number of fans who you can message all at once.

Instructions

1. Create a Facebook page at facebook.com/pages/create.php. Click on the option that best suits the type of design you will be promoting. If you own a design company, you may want to click the "Company, Organization, or Institution" option. Individual designers who consider themselves artists may use the "Artist, Band or Public Figure" format. Designers seeking to promote designs under a brand name may choose the "Brand or Product" option. Name the page and choose a category for your designs, then agree to Facebook's terms and click "Get Started."

2. Prepare your new page for use after confirming your page's category. You will need to click "Update Category" to ensure that your designs are found by those who may be looking for them. Upload a feature design into the "Welcome" area of your page. This design should represent the best of what you have to offer. You may also use your design company or brand logo.

3. Click the "Suggest to Friends" and the "Tell Your Fans" button to start building a Facebook fan base for your designs. Your existing Facebook friends and personal contacts are potential fans who you should include in your design promotions. Upload your contact lists in the .csv file format for best results. You may also give Facebook your email address and password and let the system use those contacts to find you new fans.

4. Upload your latest designs as status updates. Press the "Post Update" button to upload an image of the design and start a discussion on it. Use the "Photo" link to upload and use the comment area to request feedback, share about your design process or share about the design's usefulness. Don't forget to provide purchasing information as you promote a design. Click the "Share" button to start promoting the design on Facebook.

5. Promote the designs you upload on a regular basis. Use the page's "Send an Update to Fans" or "Suggest to Friends" link during promotions. Click the "Promote With An Ad" link to promote your designs with Facebook Ads and build word-of-mouth awareness. Facebook advertising costs money, but you will gain the advantage of choosing the audience that will most appreciate your designs by their average ages, gender, location, relationship status and precise interests.
