Ship A Cat

If you and your cat are both having to make a trip, it is very important that certain steps are followed to make sure your pet has a safe trip. The following steps will help you plan for shipping your cat, to ensure it remains safe and comfortable throughout the trip.

Instructions

1. Find a reliable and certified pet transporter. By doing this, you can guarantee your cat will be taken care of.

2. Make sure that all your cat's register papers and shots are up to date. Have your cat checked one more time by your veterinarian before the trip is made. You may want to even ask about sedating your pet before the trip so he will be more relaxed during the drive or flight.

3. Purchase a cage that is big enough for your cat. Your pet should not feel cramped and should be able to stand up and turn completely around in the cage.

4. Check to make sure your cat has the correct collar and tags on and place an information card on the cage with your name, phone number, and destination address.

5. Tell the transporter about any special medication or diet that your pet must have. You can even write special instructions for the transporter to follow.

6. Place any blankets, toys or pillows in the cat's cage that may make them feel more comfortable or remind them more of home.
