2. Select the city that is right for your Craigslist classified ad. If your city isn't listed, you can put items on Craigslist classifieds for the city which is closest to you--simply select your state and browse through the list of corresponding cities.
3. Move your cursor to the 'Post to Classifieds' button. Click here to begin to put items on Craigslist classifieds.
4. Choose from one of nine categories available to answer the Craigslist question, 'What Kind of Post Is This?' Your available choices are Job, Gig, Housing, For Sale/Wanted, Resume, Services Offered, Personal/Romance, Community and Event. If you are unsure which category is right for your post, return to the Craigslist homepage and browse through the categories to see what others have posted.
5. Click on the category that best suits your post, then choose the subcategory which is right for your post, and select a neighborhood if that option is presented.
6. Fill out the online form to create your post. Craigslist will ask you to fill in text fields such as title, price, specific location and email address.
7. Review the email you receive from Craigslist after you have first confirmed your post. You will need to follow the link in this email to confirm that you are happy with your post. The link will have a 'Publish' button, which you will click to put items on Craigslist classifieds.
