You'll find a selection of campgrounds from rustic campsites to full RV hook-ups within a short hike of the beach. Gulf State Park, located in the city of Gulf Shores, offers both developed and primitive camp sites, 2 miles of beachfront and a 900-acre lake for fishing and other water-related activities. A little off the beaten path you'll find the Gulf Shores/Pensacola West KOA's full-service facilities for both RV and tent campers.
Attractions
While camping at Fort Morgan RV park, take a sunset cruise departing from Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge or visit Fort Morgan, the site of the Civil War battle of Mobile Bay. Wander through the 20 acres of Biophilia Nature Center in Elberta to view its carnivorous plants and other native flora.
Outdoor Activities
Golfing enthusiasts can hit the links at one of the Gulf Coast's nine 18-hole championship courses. Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge offers 4,500 acres of sand dunes and woodlands to explore. Go offshore diving along the Gulf Islands National Seashore area while camping at Davis Bayou or Fort Pickens campgrounds.
