Petfinder is a tool for animal shelters and rescue houses, as well as future pet owners. If you are a shelter or similar organization, and you have found a home for one of the pets you had listed on Petfinder, you'll need to remove the pet's listing to prevent others from inquiring about the animal. Removing a pet is instant and permanent. If you accidentally delete a pet, you'll have to start over from scratch to add the pet to Petfinder.
Instructions
1. Log in to your shelter's account on the Petfinder Administration page. Be sure to type the shelter ID number in all caps.
2. Click "Home/Pet List" in the upper-left corner of the screen. This brings you to your shelter-management screen. The page has a list of available pets.
3. Browse through the list to locate the pet(s) you want to remove from Petfinder. When you find a pet, click on the box next to the pet's ID number. This selects the pet. Continue the process until you've selected each pet you want to remove.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Click "Delete" to remove the animals from Petfinder.
