Chicago residents and visitors can take advantage of annual children's events held in some of the city's world-class museums, parks and educational centers. The Windy City's location on Lake Michigan also affords ample opportunity for beachfront events and water activities.

Kidzapalooza

Held in conjunction with August's Lollapalooza, Kidzapalooza celebrates music and dance with workshops in break dancing, double dutch, and hip-hop . The School of Rock Jam Tent invites kids of all ages to rock out on guitars, drums, keyboards and other instruments.

LaGrange Pet Parade

Pets and their pint-sized owners can participate in the LaGrange Pet Parade for Kids. Held annually the last Saturday in May, the event is complete with clowns, floats and marching bands.

Easter

The Easter activities at the Swedish American Museum Center include egg and paskris decorating, traditional Swedish Easter food, an egg hunt and special prizes for attendees who come in costume.

Harvest Festival

Kilbourn Park's Harvest Festival takes place annually in September and offers organic gardening and cooking activities, take-home crafts, storytelling and face painting.

Sporting Events

Seasonally you'll find Major League Baseball games at historic Wrigley Field and at U.S Cellular Field. The NBA Bulls and the Major League Soccer team the Fire also host events in the Chicago area.

Pumpkin Festival

Celebrate fall at the Warren Park annual Pumpkin Festival. Families can take a relaxing hay ride after picking and decorating their own pumpkins. Capture the memories by taking a picture with an authentic scarecrow.
