Make Your Pet A Star

There are a variety of ways to break your pet into show business.

Everyone thinks their pet is the cutest and most talented and lovable, just as we do with our children. But if you really feel your pet has what it takes to make it big on television or in advertisements such as pet food commercials, there are a few things you can do to get them the exposure that is necessary for this type of work. Anything from posting videos on-line to enrolling your pet with an animal trainer can help in your endeavor.

Instructions

1. Enter your pet in as many shows as you can. There are a variety of pet shows sponsored by organizations such as the American Kennel Club and the National Horse Show Association of America. These types of shows are often broadcast on television and covered in newspaper and magazine articles. This type of recognition can be a good way to get your pet the exposure they need, as many of the National Shows may be seen by animal trainers for a variety of different television shows and movies. Even local competitions, such as shows in county fairs, can be a starting point as the winners of local shows go on to compete in State and National competitions.

2. Sign your pet up with a well-established or well-known animal trainer. Cuteness is not everything; your pet must also have the necessary training to become a star, whether it's in a movie, a commercial, a television show or even a newspaper advertisement. Animal trainers are often the first people contacted when a production company is looking for a particular type of animal.

3. Make videos of your pet especially if they have a particular talent or trait. Post these videos on sites such as Youtube, and enter them in contests on shows such as America's Funniest Home Videos. After every episode, this show gives an address for video submissions. Celebrities such as Ellen Degeneres have been known to pull videos from Youtube featuring talented or special pets to feature on her show.

Also take a variety of pictures of your pet. Magazines such as Redbook, as well as a variety of websites, often hold cute pet photo contests, sometimes offering cash prizes.
